“Quiet! Roll camera! Action!” rings out as motorcycles scream by and bodies fall from ramparts during the filming of “Metal Gear Solid: Acquiescence.” The film is produced by Fayetteville resident Wes Eastin, head of Scratched Lens Productions.

Eastin and a crew of talented professionals including up-and-coming actor Jason Watkins and The Black Knights, Atlanta’s premiere stunt team, a 25 member, professional line-up based in Atlanta, and director Nils Onsager are close to wrapping a three month project slated for various film festivals and conventions this fall including Atlanta’s Dragon-Con.

“We accepted the challenge, despite full-time commitments in the film industry, to develop an action-packed, full-cast, professional showcase, during our off-time, on a shoestring,” Eastin said. “The results have surpassed anything we imagined.”

Earlier this year Scratched Lens was congratulated for their hard work by an Italian film group who attempted the same project but found themselves forced to abandon the effort due to the level of difficulty in translating an action packed video game into a full screen production.

During Eastin’s recent appearance on “C-47,” a Public Broadcasting television show, he gave all the credit to his cast and the people behind the scenes, his assistant director Andy Farlow, technical advisor John Auers, producers Chris Kirkendall and Stephanie Busey, makeup artists, continuity directors and sound engineers who showed up every weekend, rain or snow, and worked through the night to make “Metal Gear Solid: Acquiescence” a success.

“We owe a great debt to Georgia State University’s Digital Aquarium and its director, Nathan Reetz for his participation and support,” Eastin said.

The film is slated for completion this summer and for competition at Comic-Con in Chicago and San Diego.
